AROUND THE WORLD IN 30 HOURS

~A day of Solidarity~

On August 19th join us in raising funds for VIDEA to continue its sustainable community development programming across Southern Africa. For 30 hours we will fast, wherever we live, whoever we are, whatever we’re doing, as a symbol of our interconnectedness as global citizens.

Take note! This is a fundraiser of modern dimensions - which means, no door to door asking for cash (unless you want to)! VIDEA is creating a comprehensive online social networking infrastructure to make this event fun and interactive, easy and accessible, wherever you might be.

What does it actually feel like to go hungry? For most Canadians, hunger is an inconvenience, a passing pang, an annoyance that sometimes buds into your schedule, but one that can be cured with little effort.

We may not know what it feels like to live with no knowledge of our next meal, but we can support those who do cope daily with this reality, by gathering our friends, and standing in solidarity. Needless to say, holding off from eating for 30 hours does not mean we know poverty, but it does mean that momentarily, at least, we feel hunger.
